This is the story of the knife known to the Ledger only as Jolt. It was  born from a reclaimed steel bolt; a mundane piece of hardware that had secured some boundary post for years, encrusted with time and rust.

When the Wayward Alchemist first laid the rusted bolt into the heart of the fire, it was a heavy, dull thing. But as the metal reached its first heat, the years of decay and oxidation; the accumulated history of the bolt, began to glow.

As the hammer met the glowing steel, the corrosion did not flake off; it exploded away in a sudden, brilliant spray of white embers and sparks, as startling as a lightning strike. That moment of cleansing, when the metal purged its past, gave the blade its name: Jolt.

The forging continued with coal and wood, slowly transforming the simple bolt. The Alchemist then cooled the steel and patiently carved the elemental glyphs (Air, Earth, Water, Fire) and the lightning-like lines into the tempered surface by hand, binding the knife’s use to the primal forces released in its dramatic birth.
